    Project Location: Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

    ESA PCR prepared the noise analysis for the Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Rancho Palos Verdes Point View Master Use Plan Project.  The proposed Master Use Plan would allow up to 30 public or private events per year on the property and contains three distinct components:

    • expansion of agricultural uses on the property
    • development of an executive golf course and improvements to an existing event garden
    • provision of a paved internal driveway through the property

    ESA PCR prepared an evaluation of potential noise and vibration impacts associated with construction activities, transportation, and project operations (e.g., special events, mechanical equipment).  ESA PCR also recommended mitigation measures where significant impacts were identified.  After mitigation significant project impacts would be reduced to a less than significant level.

    EXPO Light Rail Noise Impact Study

    Project Location: Santa Monica, CA

    ESA PCR prepared noise and vibration studies to address the construction and operation of the Expo Light Rail Transit Project on a highly sensitive theatre property in Santa Monica. Metro’s proposed 15-mile Expo Line will operate on the right-of-way running roughly parallel to Olympic Boulevard and passing in front of the property.

    ESA PCR prepared an evaluation of potential noise and vibration impacts associated with construction activities and train operation. The analysis included noise monitoring inside and outside of buildings to establish ambient noise levels near potentially affected noise sensitive land uses.

    ESA PCR conducted tests to evaluate noise reduction to estimate train noise levels inside of the building. ESA PCR recommended improvement of window glass as mitigation measures to reduce train noise impacts on noise sensitive uses inside of the building.
