Environmental Planning & Documentation
Our EPD Division is currently looking to fill the following positions in both Santa Monica and Irvine:
Senior/Principal Planners - Requirements for the Senior Planner/Principal Planner positions include a minimum of 5 years experience preparing and managing environmental documents, advanced analytical writing and communication skills, and a degree in planning or a related discipline. Strong management and interpersonal skills are essential. (Masters Degree preferred).
Planners - Candidates for the Planner position must have strong analytical, writing and communication skills, 3 years experience preparing environmental documents, and a Bachelors Degree in a planning or related discipline (Masters Degree a plus).
Biological Resources
Our Biological Division is currently looking to fill positions in our Irvine location:
Mid to Senior Level Biologists - We are looking to hire two to three full-time, mid-to-senior level biologists. Preferred skill sets vary according to project and geographic location, but include desert and/or coastal flora and fauna, wetland permitting, endangered species permitting, and CEQA/NEPA compliance. Ideal candidates will possess excellent writing and verbal abilities, be well organized, and able to work independently. Minimum requirements for consideration are a college degree (B.S./B.A.) in biology or a highly related field and at least three years experience in Southern California environments. Advanced degrees (M.A./M.S./Ph.D) are a plus. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
Contract Field Survey Biologist- We are looking to hire Contract Field Survey Biologist. Preferred skill sets/experience include Focused Surveys for sensitive plants and sensitive wildlife species, Vegetation Mapping, Mitigation Monitoring, Habitat Assessment, Arboriculture. Permitted individuals for California Gnatcatcher, Southwestern Willow Flycatcher, and Desert Tortoise highly desirable. Experience with use of GPS in the field is also desirable. Compensation commensurate with qualifications.

Historic Resources

Senior Cultural Resources Manager - We are seeking a full-time senior level cultural resources manager to staff a position on a major utility project in Southern California. Preferred skill sets include project management, proposal preparation, QA/QC, supervision of staff, and demonstrated expertise in CEQA/NEPA/Section 106 compliance. Ideal candidates will possess excellent writing and verbal abilities, be well organized, and able to work independently. Minimum requirements for consideration are an advanced graduate degree (M.A./M.S./Ph.D.) in archaeology/architectural history/historic preservation or a highly related field, and at least five years professional experience in cultural resources management with a minimum of three years as a project manager in Southern California. Ability to manage projects containing both archaeological and architectural resources components is highly desirable. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
Archaeological & Paleontological Resources
Our Archaeological & Paleontological is currently looking to fill the following positions:
Senior Archaeologist - Preferred skill sets include project management, proposal preparation, QA/QC, supervision of staff, and CEQA/NEPA compliance. Ideal candidates will possess excellent writing and verbal abilities, be well organized, and able to work independently. Minimum requirements for consideration are an advanced college degree (M.A./M.S./Ph.D.) in archaeology or a highly related field and at least five years of experience in Southern California environments. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
Archaeological and Paleontological Field Technicians – Responsibilities will include archaeological or paleontological survey, excavation (testing and/or data recovery), and/or construction monitoring. Recordation tasks such as digital photography, sketching, mapping (GPS), note-taking and field form preparation will be required for these positions. The technicians will work under the direction of a Crew Chief and/or Project Manager.
The ideal candidate shall have minimally a B.A or B.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology, Paleontology, Geology, or closely related field, completed an accredited archaeological field school, and/or at least 6 months experience conducting fieldwork in California. The candidates must be task-oriented, have a positive attitude, and have the ability to work in both group and individual settings. The technicians must be physically fit, willing to travel, able to lift up to 30 pounds, able to perform all aspects of archaeological or paleontological field work, and work effectively in adverse weather conditions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GIS software is a plus.
These are temporary, hourly positions and salary will be commensurate with experience, individual qualifications, and industry standards. Assignments are on an as-needed basis with upcoming projects in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange counties. Candidates with California field experience and who are based in the areas of a respective project will be strongly preferred.
